Kelly is a documentary photographer and journalist who has lived the scrappy freelance dream for the better part of the last five years. She tends to work quite slowly, focusing on self-determination, resistance and youth experience and identity, mostly within refugee communities across the East and West.

She has been published on Al Jazeera English, Human Rights Watch, Buzzfeed News, Huffington Post, Vice News, Open Society Foundation and Brownbook Magazine among others.

Also a teacher, she has a background in social studies and special education and speaks sometimes at conferences and universities regarding her journalistic work. In another life, she teaches sex-ed and gender studies to teenagers.

If she's in town, Kelly is available to photograph anything you want. Email for prints or to inquire about her work taking pictures to commemorate people in love.
